2M SPT at The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst

The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC) brought together industry and academic expertise for a dynamic Innovation Lab at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology recently. The session was facilitated by Chris Wright, Executive Director at Future Everything guiding participants through a collaborative and engaging programme.

The event opened with an introduction that shared IBIC’s mission and its role in fostering meaningful partnerships between industry and academia.

Building on this, the 2M Sustainable Packaging Technologies team outlined key challenges currently being explored by the 2M Group of Companies, highlighting areas where academic collaboration could drive innovation and progress. Attendees then took part in focused breakout sessions, working together to better understand these challenges and generate fresh, practical ideas for addressing them.

The Innovation Lab format encouraged open discussion, cross-disciplinary thinking, and the sharing of diverse perspectives. The afternoon proved highly productive, sparking new connections and laying the groundwork for future collaborative projects.
